Title: Pixel goddess
Post by: gliding on January 07, 2007, 08:03:57 am
Yea ,

So I got bored and decided to draw a quick pixel. I came out with this quick sketch- ver messy and pixelly so yea.

CC is appreciated but only on general design and dynamics- its quite opbviously a messy wip. I might do something out of this later.

edit, on her front arm is a gun blaster to smite the heathens XD! or just to look cool.

and the thing behind her was the beginning of a cloud

It looks to me like she has an aligator puppet on her hand  :P The body and hair look good. It would make a great finished piece. Can
I suggest making it more one of the gods that scatter flowers and run around the forest with those half horse half goat guys rather than
all powerful, smiting god.

HM.. would such a being acquiesce herself to such a lowly postition?   :o

... done.

Yea but i still want to make a pixle goddess!, I guess I'll make another later- no one better take the idea!

jk, maybe we could start a cool event?

many anatomy, posture problems. The far leg and the far arm especially don't seem to be proper in shaping and length, and are not comfortable in that position. Sadly I can't offer much critique on how to fix such an issue as I identify it as one that will go away the more confident you get drawing people, so I guess, do do do do it more.

The posture is not very dynamic, it has to do with the angles of the limbs and body. If you want a general edit I could.

A general edit is quite welcome helm. I noticed the leg problem as well, and I was going to fix it when i had more time.

Love the colors and the wierd, Greek-looking hair style. I don't mind the pose being less than dynamic. It makes her look like she's gracefully floating along, barely touching the ground... which doesn't mesh with the megaman blaster too well, in my opinion.

Yeah, I, too, am not sure what a pretty frolicking naked girl is doing with a blaster...

Even if you change the concept, you should definitelly keep working on this, I like it!  What's with the cloud?

actually, she and her boyfriend were swimming in a lake, naked, and she got up, stole her boyfriends cloths, and ran  :P

yeah, as stated before, a few anatomy problems.

if you decide to remake this piece, i wouldn't make her gold like this.

Thanks for the edit, Hem. I especially like how you reworked that arm- it doesn't seem to dangle anymore.

I'll probably rework the whole piece, I like the sketchyness- so I'll keep that, but I'll rework the pose and possible take out the awesome blaster  :-[

No Big though since I wanted to finsih this one any way.

Further crits and comments are welcome as long as they help me to further the piece.

thanks.

If she's flying, that's fine. Right (ours) foot wouldn't turn so far back though.

Yes she's flying; I might add extra stray picels and things around her to get that whole above ground feel.

I'll try loweriing the lower leg slightly ^^.

Here is my attempt so far.

I might just scrap the palette and use realistic colours and shading but I guess I'm just stubborn (or lazy)

continued CC appreciated.

Looking much more polished and thought-out. Her facial features look a tad small for the size of her head, and she also is lacking some hear around the ear/sideburn area.

There are a couple of small things that are bugging me here:

- I would have done the hair behind her head.. if she's flying, that would be more logical.
- The front and back legs don't look like they're far away enough from each other..
- The back leg looks like it's too long.
- Boobs are too high up :P
