Well, last week's challenge had a better turnout. Kudos to everyone who participated! I've not gotten any other topic ideas yet, so I just made one up.
Topic: "Captain Determination goes out for a stroll."
A very determined walk cycle; a brick wall wouldn't even slow this guy down.
Silhouette.
64 x 64.
6-10 frames.

'Kay. What frame do you guys start on for walk animations? 'Cause I figure, with a looping walk animation, you probably won't have a frame that just looks like him standing to one side...
-
I usually start on the frame where his feet are both on the ground at the same time.

Hey, you've got the basic motions correct. The oddly changing frame-rate is hurting it though. It looks like he's taking a slow step--fast step--slow step--fast step. Read through the tutorial I posted if you haven't, and polish your animation up a little more, using it as a guide, you'll probably be surprised by how easy it is to get it looking good.
I'll do my own animation for this as soon as I get some spare time, I'm swamped at the moment.

This was good fun.
I basically exaggerated everything there is to exaggerate and the walk is bordering on a run and also is impossible to do in reality.
But as a cartoonwalk it works i think.
10 frames, 2 steps

Gave it another go.
(Sorry, I made a new account, I'm stab with a more character-suited name. It was wearin' on me, it was.)

One leg lands shorter than the other, which kinda irks me, but other than that I'm rather happy with it.
