I'm going to add jumping, crouching, climbing and some other poses i come up with.
New (slower):

For game mechanics, i was thinking of having him be more agile when warm and less agile when cold, like cold-blooded reptiles.
Old (too fast):

if you want a reference, you might want to check out "gex", a former bipede-lizard in a video game that had impressive animation (though not pixel art)
your art is cute, though your animations are imho too fast. Also, you opted for a "standing straight" pose. Imho, you'd reinforce the "lizard" effect by having his body showing more like an "S", with the head in the following of the spine, and the spine bending so that he's still standing with the head horizontal.

I was more going for a humanoid look, but thanks anyway. The walking is more like running tho, and if he was walking, he would be moving his legs and arms less.
-
A running animation looks different though - in a run cycle, you always have a point where both feet are off the ground. http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/6066981/2/istockphoto_6066981-running-man-full-cycle.jpg
And I also second that the animations are way too fast. I think the sprite has potential, but you should really take a second look at the animations.

Ok, will slow down the animations as soon as my lousy pc stops lagging.

I read his chest/throat as the face of a man wearing a lizard suit, I kinda struggle to see it as anything else, thinning it down would help.
Legs are too far forward, swing out too far forward, and the arms swing too far forward.
-
So the body is too far back and should also be slimmer?
If that is the case, i'll begin working on that now.
-
I like the little guy so far. The walk bothers me, though, it looks like his center of gravity is way back there. Walking is actually repeated falling forward and catching oneself with one leg. His legs are so far ahead of his body it looks more like he should tip backwards.

I'll just call the current walk moonwalking and make a new walk anim ;)
