Title: Requesting C+C regaurding pixel
Post by: Diogalesu on February 17, 2010, 02:17:33 am
So hey, I suppose this is my first time posting here, I joined here quite awhile ago though
Anyways, I've been working on this for the past few days, It's pretty much Conker T Squirrel, if you remember him from the old N64.

I would like to get some criticism on this regarding the palette and shading if that isn't too much to ask. I'd appreciate it.

Sorry for the bump, just wanted to post a update of the work after getting C+C from one of the other communities I go to.

Looks good. I prefer the first one, because of colors, shading and contrast.

The tail isn't very readable.

Still trying to keep with the lighter palette (I want to avoid the dark colors to try to keep with the ref I'm using) I tried to darken the jacket a bit, and a few other fixes.

Don't quite know where to go with the readability on the tail.

btw, the tail you draw is more reminding me of a fox than of a squirrel, both from its size, shape and colouring pattern.
but maybe we simply don't have the same references for squirrels.

You're using the very same colours for tail and head. You should try using darker or less saturated colors for the tail, and possibly having the head casting a shadow on the tail.
