Hey guys, haven't pixelled in months, last thing I posted here was back in April I believe. Decided to start up again, try a bit harder to improve my pixelling skills, heh. Here's a little guy I got from the line-art thread (original lineart by SplatPixel). Still a working progress, trying to do the face and hair, but having problems. Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with an edit, or show me somewhere I can have a look at some other pixelled faces/hair?

I haven't pixeled in forever too. I gave it a quick once over and the only thing I can notice is the right leg(his left) looks really awkward in that position(even for a toon).
-
As I said.. lineart wasn't made by me, so not really compelled to edit it, but okay, guess I'll try a different pose for the leg..
-
damn, who ever made that line art sure does suck... wait a sec.. thats mine. nevermind then :mean: heh, hes lookin pretty good. nice work so far on him man, no crits from me.

Thanks Splat :P Made alot of small edits, still unsure as to what to do with the hair and face, anyone?

Try adding some jaw shading.
Thus making the face seem less flat.

How should I shade the jaw though? I'm very unexperienced with shading faces.. not really sure what to do. Not trying to avoid your criticism or anything, or ask for too much, but I'm just really unsure as to what to do. That's why in the first post I said "Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with an edit, or show me somewhere I can have a look at some other pixelled faces/hair?".

There are about 20 > 40 avatars on this forum all of pixelled faces. Just look at the shapes and where light hits the most, normally the nose/forhead, and darkness.
