As these final fantasy games progress, the swords wielded by the main character get more and more ridiculous :blind: Or maybe that's a can opener?

I think the upper arm on the left is bent slightly. Its coming out of the shoulder straight and then starts going up.

The front part of the foot on the right looks stubby. Should probably be a little wider.

Other then that it looks good.

if the design wasn't so fucking retarded i probably could have used less colors, but it's at 28
and i hate luso in general so i'm not gonna work on this anymore, submitted it to pj

and i'll start hurdy tomorrow

edit: man i did an awful job with that sword

i feel like the colors are too darkened and saturated. maybe that's just me, i dunno.

yea, I agree... and if you're not going under any color restraint, I suggest you have colored lines for the lines "inside". Reason for saying so is because it still looks kinda dark to me.

bailed out on this thread because i wanted to finish a few more before i tried getting some crits on it. one more character to sprite after penelo and i'll be done

and i never really got around to reading alkaline's comment until now, but i think that may just be a problem with luso, because tbh he's the only one that seems overly dark to me right now. regardless i'll either do the colored inside lines to them all, or just mess with his palette a bit

edit: uploaded an old version on accident

heh

The overuse of black lines hurts what are otherwise excellently constructed figures. You have enough dark shades to color parts of the outlines without increasing the palette sizes.

Montblanc's head seems a little large, and Adelle is maybe a too tall? Can't quite put my finger on it. Otherwise nicely done.  :y:

Hmm, I started editing the first sprite a couple of weeks ago, returned to it this week and it kind of got out hand. I wanted to show how the color count could be reduced a lot without hurting the separation of parts. It bothered me how you had colors used in only one or two tiny areas, especially when they were so similar to other shades. You had a lot of messy jagged outlines, and the top left area seemed unfinished (you didn't even fill in all of the transparency :P) and I also colored the internal outlines whenever it made sense (mainly where there's closer overlap or touching between the two objects).

So, uh, yeah, it's a kind of radical change from your original sprite but after all that I wasn't going to let it go to waste. I hope it can help you some in the future.
