Might be the wrong forum... :-\
Whatever. I wanted to ask if anyone could give me a download link to the Vista version of MS Paint maybe? I wanted to try that out..
-
Heh, I'm not even sure if that's possible without installing Vista, but I too am interested if it is.
-
On a vaguely related topic, does anyone know where I can get an old copy of paint with the transparency switch intact?
-
I found out that theres an emulator you can use to start some programs that come with Vista, just like its version of paint. But I couldnt find the .exe anywhere on the net, and I didnt want to wait any longer, so I just hacked my current version of paint, replaced the icons, cursors, the program icon and the palette :D

I'm really interested in getting the old Paintbrush version of windows 3.11. First of nostalgia reasons (it's what I started of with pixeling) and because I remember, that it was possible to save the current palette and load it again later, but maybe it's necessery to install a old windows version and to copy the paintbrush?

I have windows vista on my other laptop. I gotta tell you there is nothing different or new from the xp version.
same tools, different theme.

Shame, I would have liked one or two extra goodies. :(

Yeah, I was told that there was a zoom slider, improved palette, and a crop feature.

would it be possible to upload the .exe to megaupload or something?
-
Of which wont be a link posted on here. Whoever posts a link to warez will get banned. Kthxbye.
-
Mh, sending PMs would work though? ;D
-
As long as it's not publicly advertised I do not care.
-
is it really considered 'warez' if its a freeware program? :blind:
edit: I do not feel like debating this. What ptoing says is law. kthx
-
If Microsoft says it's freeware than it's fine of course. If it is legally only obtainable through buying Vista, THEN it's wares.
It's as easy as that. I am Admin here, yes, but it does not mean that I am all-knowing.
So yes, if it's declared freeware it's OK of course. :)

Theres a zoom slider..
That does the same as the normal zoom tool. But there is also zoom out which goes far then the original size. It's not useful in pixel art as far as I know.

The palette interface is the same as the xp version. I'm not sure if there was more advanced values.
The crop feature? I dont know what that means :blind:
I uploaded the vista version on my xp and all what I got was the same xp version??
