Hello,
since I just recently joined the board I might as well throw out some stuff I did in the past and see what you guys think about it.
A homeless dude. This was the main character for some kind of adventure game about homeless people in Berlin I worked on for some time. Never came to something playable sadly.

Homeless dude digging in the garbage

Homeless dude being drunk. If I ever made a mockup trailer for this game, this would be the last thing it would show.

A character in the homeless game, obviously inspired by The big Lebowski

A viking

A really tiny character for another game concept I am currently tossing around.

oh yeah, obviously I am very interested in feedback / critique for my work :-)

No need to post scaled versions (an active script here allows us to click to zoom)
I like what I see very much. You understand pixel art. Nice color usage. Haven't really looked too hard, but you might have some color redundancy on this one (http://hivemind.in/pj/specs/index.php?urls=http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Fi4nIW6U2bo/TCUSfsoJ9tI/AAAAAAAABWc/W320VOZZmpk/s512/trash_anim_final.gif).

Can u actually do us a favour mate and repost it all without scaling up the images? As mentioned, the forum has a scaling feature. I frequently check this forum on my phone and some of the larger blowups won't even fit on screen...
-
yeah, sorry about the scaling.
I just pulled these from my blog.
I'll update them as soon as I'm home and have access to the original files.

Agreed.
I'm likin' yo style brotha. Some of the sprites actually remind me of superbrothers' style. I'm assuming it's the dull coloration and lack of outlines. And while I'd like to see you try something else later on (your choice, though), there are a few faults you have already; minor ones. On the large viking sprite you seem to be stuck somewhere between "paper cut-out" and "shaded", which results in some minor banding, namely on the continuation of a shirt beneath his belt. The shadow around his head and neck might be too broad as well. On the "Homeless scene", note the bike lacks a shadow and thus looks rather misplaced. Some on the ground, and/or on the wall.
That's all I got for now. Hope to see more!

Same goes for dumpster. Needs "grounding".

I find the homeless guy quite charming, especially when he's dumpster diving. The Big Lebowski is very recognizable, though I thought he carries around a glass for his White Russian?
