Title: Suck on animating a behind-view walk animation and could use some tips.
Post by: Tureen on July 13, 2017, 07:56:14 pm
I've been working on some of my first pixel art animations, and am pretty happy with how they're turning out. I've got the front and side run animations working and even some cloth movement!

But when trying to animate the behind view, where the character is moving upwards, I ran into a hurdle. No matter what I try, I can't seem to make it look like he's walking in the correct direction. The legs always look like they're walking downwards.

Here's one of my attempts at making it work: (http://i.imgur.com/WnaxNGC.gif)

And here's the character walking downwards: (http://i.imgur.com/HYXpZGh.gif)

Does anyone have any advice, and maybe some examples of animations of a similar style?

well you need to make the animation play backwards. Feet travel along the ground from top to bottom from that angle.

Wow, that was simple. Flipped the animation around and it works! Thanks!
