I figure I might as well try and hone my pixelart skills in my favorite subject, fanmade Pokemon.
Note: These are NOT in the Pokemon style, I make fakemon in my own style like Shaunybug and Neorice. That said my style changes with each sprite, but I'm guessing what I want to say is I want more complex, realistic shading...

(http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af72/CrimsonHalls/hypnotarasque-1.gif) - Color experiment, ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTARASQUE
(http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af72/CrimsonHalls/Jons%20Hack/dandelante.gif) - This guy's up for a resprite but I'm proud of him so I'm posting him here.
Mostly I'm looking for help on how to make my shading look really cool. I can manage to do it on some of my larger stuff but when it gets this small it's hard to do!

first one is very creative, third one is beautiful. but about the second one.. you didn't shade the mouth, teeth, eyes, and back legs? ???

Anyways, I wasn't satisfied with the tar pit, so...

Improvement or no? Once again, not in the Pokemon style. (obviously)

Actually, I really like the third Fakemon sprite. Looks VERY Pokemon-ish, sort of. Although that could be just me watching lots of Pokemon Black and White gameplay.
