You'll need to do something to show that this is a kind of top down shot, as people may mistake this as a horribly misshapen anatomy from first sight. The best way I can suggest to deal with this is to use darker shade steps the further away your figure is from 'camera'. That shoe tread detail is cool. Great logo work on the Lakers lettering also. You might want to ditch such a strong outline on the number. I can't see where the shirt ends, by the way. It seems like one big piece of fabric. Should the ball be larger, btw? or is this just a very large person? Maybe there's something going on with proportions and you meant to have the hand holding the ball a bit further away from camera? In that case, darken the shading on the arm near the ball. Good luck Mr David. This is coming along very well.

Hi i think you need to make more of a difference from the shirt and shot. And as said lighten the head shades and darken the legs. As said that gives a feel for perspective.

Thank you,

Dan

I really don't like your dithering. Instead of a checkerboard pattern you use the scanline way of dithering which can be a stylistical choice, but then the dithering needs to be softer or pretty darn well executed. In this case, especially in the face and right side of the piece it fails horribly imo. I see this kind of shading all the time on gmpixel too, and I really don't see why, it doesn't really add to 90% of the pieces.

Try varying the hues. For example, the lighter the highlight, the more it will go into yellow. The darker, the more it will go into blue. The highlight should be kinda of yellowish brown.

I have to agree with gil about the dithering. Also, the bottom foot looks too small. darn, I have to go to tai chi, will comment further upon return :D
