Hey,
I'm currently working on a mock-up of a graveyard. This is actually going to be a game, but this mock-up is just to get some tiles right etc.
I aimed for a style with tiny sprites, like the skeletons are about 16x16 pixels.
Now I have a problem: slopes. Birdview slopes are quite hard to make ( at least, for me ) and they just don't look right. They don't look like hills but more like higher edges with a deep inside.

I'd like some advice, also on making the whole mock-up better. Thanks!

The tiles are nice, but the mockup looks a little boring. I would make different dirt tiles, and maybe make the colors a little more interesting.

Oh yes I forgot to say this is the beginning of my mock-up, I still need to add different stuff, scenery, etc. Of course it looks boring now ;)

Btw, the colors had to be this "boring" , cuz the full game will have a dark theme, where you will create chaos :P

I would start by adding shadows. I find that the tiles are lacking because shadows are exactly what they lack.
Otherwise they're great.

No, boring does not equal dark. You can have a dark theme with fun colors. Or a better word, with interesting colors.
