Title: rpg trees
Post by: Decroded on January 04, 2016, 08:16:41 am
Another tree continuing from previous posts.
This one is a cherry blossom so I'll have to go for rounder clusters instead of leaf shaped.

I have to say I've been feeling inspired by Joecreates' trees recently so was definitely in my head when doing trunk, though I tried to branch away (sorry bad pun) from that clean-cut style when detailing so it fits with other assets.

dont know if I'll get to keep the full intensity of these colours in the end...

Looks amazing, I'm curious how it would look if you added some dark lines to define some of the leaves, in a few select places. To bring out some sharpness.

Thanks.
u mean lines inside the sprite or outlines?
They're not leaves btw its lots of little circular flowers.
I know there's some leafy clusters but I only really finished sketching it in so far.
edit: meant to say partly because I haven't figured out how I'm going to cluster it yet so yeah open to suggestions ;-)

Very beautiful tree. I think the trunk needs to just be a tad darker. That's really all I could say about it.

I think the colors are perfect, but it is a bit too "leafy" for my tastes. It would look better in my opinion if it were more sparse

Yeah, I mean petals..
The colors you're using are pure magic.

I think the trunk looks so different in style from the foliage. That's why I'm wondering if some outlines inside the tree, to make some of the petals pop would tie the two styles together.

I think I like that part. Not sure. I would personally remove detail from the truck instead of adding detail to the leaves I think. Maybe to gauge this well, we'd need to see the tree together with the other assets.
