Title: Any suggestions for improving my character?
Post by: Bickot on May 29, 2018, 01:44:25 am
So I've been drawing heads for a while now, and this is pretty much my first go at drawing a body.

Basically, I wanted to give her a body and this was the end result...

Yeah... It's looks really awkward and rigid. It honestly just looks like a mess to me. So is there anything I can do to make this better?

Your images aren't working. You have to use the URLs of the image (ending in .png, .gif, or whatever image format), not the URL of the webpage they're on.

you dont need to upload a bigger image of your drawing, you can upload the orginal size ( i just guess the drawing is scaled bigger)
Her right leg look a bit out of place, and maybe the arms should be a bit longer,

It's always my advice: Do some traditional art time drawing some skeletons.

Copy them as hard as you can, 1:1 line-to-skeleton-bump drawings. Every single fiddly lil bit, best as you can.

After one or two of those I guarantee you're going to have a better eye for what's right and wrong, even if it'll be a bit of a slog.

If nothing else, do it for skulls. Skull structure is HUGE for anything since people will always pick up on if something's wrong with a face vs the rest of the body, aye?
