Title: A Frigate
Post by: BlackHole on September 15, 2011, 12:07:01 am
Hi,

I've recently gotten back into pixel art and, of course, spaceships (well, I've always been best at spaceships). However, I'm looking for some feedback as to how to do shading correctly and how to give the illusion of depth in a planned 2d game with multiple light sources (I might add a lighting engine, but that's not the priority).

Without further ado, here's one of my ships so far, with both a transparent and a black background. it's currently unarmed, with tentative turret mounts (look for green circles)

Thoughts?

Looks good but it's all a little bit too "squarish", try going for a more organic shape, get inspired : ) Here's an example (http://"http://images.wikia.com/gurennlagann/images/d/d6/Daigurren.gif")
