Title: [newbie] Bench Pixel 96x48
Post by: ludamad on February 18, 2008, 12:59:54 am
Well, since my project is finding spriter help scarce atm (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=5974.new#new (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=5974.new#new)) I might as well work on some of my pixeling skills.
Atm, I'm attempting a bench. The basic idea is here, but I'm finding it very awkward.
Current:

The shape, perspective, colour, shading, ie everything needs some help. Any suggestions?

Ludamad, I would recommend adding a little more contrast to imply a light source. (your link shows an environment with the light source from the upper right). This should also help define the shape of the bench.
It also occurred to me that the back legs are not visible but appear as if they should be. This could be a great opportunity to define the depth with contrast.
Good luck with your game. :)
