Welcome to the forums.

If you want to edit something there's an edit button, and it's usual here to include the image directly:

also this forum has a built-in zoom function so please show your stuff at 1x.

I would suggest you start a new image, do the lineart first, then try to specify the volume and light with basic shading without adding any detail, antialiasing or dithering and then fix what seems wrong because if you edit an image with so much dithering, it always get's more work to fix small things because you have to correct so much details around it.

having a mentor won't actually do you any good.  All the artists on these forums are pretty much self taught in pixel-art, aside from the basic tutorials (ie tsugumos) which we all read when we began.  If you havent got a good grasp of the fundamentals having someone teach you pixel-art technique is not going to help.  There are probaly about 4 or 5 techniques that you could learn from tutorials and just practise.

the last piece you just posted isnt pixelart, I will wait til i see a 1x version of the first, before i comment it, because im too lazy to resize it myself.

The crescent thing.... a moon I guess it is. Shouldn't be pillow shaded.

If anyone considers being a pixel mentor can they contact me?

Shadaron, I suggest you go through a handful of drawing tutorials. They'll help you tremendously. Your smiley face it's too bad.

I assume you mean isn't, instead of it's, Jon?

Your stars are a bit wonky. And your sky is bright.
Here's my approach to the sky (Note that this is part of a collaboration with Xion):
(http://lorne.lastchancemedia.com/Images/TricksandCrits/StarsXION.gif) Note how they're small, and there's a lot of them, a lot of which are hard to notice at 1x zoom. Your's are all the same size and brightness, which is huge and freakin' bright.

The moon, also, wouldn't be quite so... crescent. You gotta think, the shadows on the moon are from where the Earth blocks the sunlight from reaching it, and the shadows are quite a bit bigger then that in real life. Also, the moon doesn't actually glow like that.
Your grass is shaded all wrong, because you gotta consider the distance between the earth and the moon. It's hyuge. The moon reflects light from the sun back towards the earth, and it's more radial, instead of concentrated, so the entire ground would be rather evenly shaded, instead of light as focused as in your picture. Things are also way too saturated for night time.

God I hope that made sense.

Anyways, keep it up :-*

Alright, made another example image:

It sucks because I don't have my tablet.
Sucky red ball is earth, I guess. White lines are sunlight, just there to show where the sun would be, since it emanates light in every direction, not just where the white lines go.
Red lines are what you're doing with the moon's reflection, green is what SHOULD be happening.

Sherman Gill: Wow. thanks a lot. I know what you mean by the saturation. You did a lot of good today, so give yourself a par on the back.  ;D
and don't worry, you made perfect sense!

JhonathanodDrain: What you need a mentor 4? I may be able to help. I've learned you don't need a mentor, you just need to post, wheter it be shi* or not, people can still help! :-D

Do you guys know any way I can improve on the smiley face? ???
