Title: [C&C] Two characters' sprites and portraits for a game
Post by: Fluttershaft on March 30, 2016, 07:04:56 pm
Here are the 2 main characters of my game:

Melan - the player character

I like his sprite so it's probably gonna stay. I'm not sure about the portrait however. He's supposed to look sort of lifeless and bleh.

Holly - she stays with you during most of the game, (her sprite is drawn where player was 1 sec. ago)

I'm pretty happy with her design and colors, but again, not sure about the portrait.

For reference and context,(where and how I am going to use the sprites) here's screenshot from Tess (not my game)

the portrait for the girl needs a LOT of work on the arms and torso, and the shading on Melan is a bit inconsistant with the armpit done as it is.
Digging the design on them though.

I feel like you might have to just redraw the girl entirely, there's a lot that needs fixing in the anatomical sense.
Try taking a picture of yourself doing the pose and working from that as reference,
or pick up a copy of this >terawell.net/terawell/?lang=en < and use that.

Having a proper reference can make all the difference.
