Please critique my tiles. Id like to know how Im doing so far. I just recently started doing pixel art and creating sprites/tiles.  ;D

Edit: Ok I followed your suggestions and I came out with this.

P.S I am planning on adding bits of variation like cracks, spider webs, etc. I just wanted to know what you think of my plain old tiles.

For the red brick one the brick pattern is a bit random. If you were to look at the side of a house the brick on the level above stops halfway past the one below, like this:http://www.andrearosen.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/texture-red-brick-wall.jpg

Besides that the colour looks nice, the bricks could do with a little bit of shape to them, perhaps a strong highlight along the top edge in a light red.

You could try to play with saturation and contrast according to the material you want to depict.
This tutorial (http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm) on the subject is really well made.
I made a quick edit. Hope it helps.
Also regarding shading and perspective, which kind of perspective do you want to use in your project ?

Thanks. Its not for a particular project, just practice.
