This is the logo for a studio, Goatman Games. I am unsure as to whether or not it is readable and whether or not the focus is right. Also, I have two versions, one with the logo and one on the bottom. I am leaning toward the one on the bottom.

Logo is too tall either way in my opinion.
Here are a couple quick and dirty suggestions. One is to simply shorten it up and leave more of the goatman's body to the imagination. the other is to integrate the "T" and his tie together. Again, quick and dirty, you can make it pretty yourself ;)

I agree with ttk's post. When you do logos, its a good idea to sketch out dozens of ideas on paper first. Try going in alot of different directions. Then do variations on each of those slowly narrowing it down. As for this design, I think the horns look more like antenas to me, and the face doesn't read immediatly as goat.

Tried to make some more variations (as well as some nice ears):

Some thoughts of my own. Added lines for the snout and reworked the tie a bit for the T, since that's a pretty good idea.

And here's some more variations:

the face in the lower right look alot more like a goat now. Try to think minimally with logos. Remove the details that arent neccesary.

I think the red parts here arent added anything really except making it a bit noisier. Its good youre doing alot of variations on this design, but have you tried other designs as well?

I was trying to show that he is wearing a suit. Here is a version without:

And I am slightly confused as to what you mean by other designs (the scale anyway).

Thanks a ton jun your edit is really good. I am a little unsure about the full shape look. I tried to work on the snout, horns, and amulet the most since those seemed to be some of the better aspects:

You might want to anti-alias those rough edges!

Here's a version I have grown rather fond of:
