I'm working on something a little more substantial but I snuck these in today:

Any tips on how to max the details out there would be appreciated!

Sure thing...But first I need to see what exactly your talking about. I gotz da red X.(can't see the pics, in other words)
-
The trick to maxing out details in small sprites is to not explicitly draw them, but to imply them.. it takes a good sense of abstraction to figure out which details to preserve and how to place varying shades together to replicate them. It comes with practice :p

I'm very happy with these sprites, I actually can't give you any technique critique really... I guess you win!
EDIT: okay, okay, very very nitpick crits

let's call it a 5-1 your way then.

Hey Helm thx so much, that looks much more smooth and subtle to me!

Ok I updated Fred, I kept my selout on his brown area but I adapted your ear and neck shading pixel for pixel I think, its just dead on and helps those shapes pop so much, thanks again!
-
No worries. Glad to be of help.

Oh man, I love this comic. With a passion. *highfive*
But I think Copper certainly needs to be at least 1.5 times as tall as you've pixeled him. Unless you weren't going for the proportions.
-
Yeah razz you're spot on actually, but I made copper first at 32 px high, and then I had fred shorter but had to size him up to get the face detail I wanted, so I settled for out of proportion for now :) hopefully I will get to repaint copper sometime soon!
and yeah, i agree, copper makes my month! "jump station" is my most recent favorite...

I can't say for sure this is bumpworthy, I'm kind of new to this forum, but this was a huge honor for me:

Now I really wish I had made these sprites better!!

I love how he has no problem to say it. "Pixel art". Great. Awesome.
