Here's something I did 3 days ago. It's for a spaceship shooting game I am making using game maker.

Maybe avoid using such dark outlines, especially for the weapons fire explosion. It could be gamma, but your ships seem very light and contrasted. Need more middle shade to build up ship structure for a sense of depth. I like the parts that go to the white and bluish ship. Is that a cockpit that attaches to different hulls?

Thanks, now I got some good rules for making explosion and weapon fire projectiles. Dark outlines should be omitted.
