I've always had a fascination with Spawn artwork, so for my first shot at pixel art, that's what I tried. Let me know what you think and where I can improve!

after reading some of the stuff about ripping on here, I think it should be prudent for me to say that this was done from an image that I found on google images. I hope that doesn't constitute as "ripping" and if it does I'll be more than happy to remove this. Thanks

Wow haven't seen this guy in a while, had to reply. I think thew cape could do with some work regarding the choppyness. ;)

It's messy, but it's a good start.
-The outlines of the cape especially stick out--if it were mine, I'd even get rid of them.
-The lighting (highlights/and shading) is messy. They feel randomly placed, and they don't seem like they're pulling enough weight--they aren't showing depth as well as they could. Maybe a contrast thing?
-The face could read better...feels very blurry.
Otherwise, its a pretty sound design.
I'm curious to see the reference picture, though.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I did some work on it today to try and clean things up. I'm mostly looking to see if I'm on the right track to "clean it up".
The areas I worked on are all on the cape on the left side of the image and on Spawn's right arm.
I removed all of the random pixels and made them more deliberate
I also removed the black outlines on the cape as Rydin suggested
