Hey I need advice on tiles and maybe what kind of background in this ?

Don't use jpeg for pixel art conversion. When you look at it closer, it looks a bit blurry. Doesn't matter if your sprite or bg looks good, the first step is you gotta get em clean first.

 For the tiles, add some trees, some rocks, other sorts of details.

i think your character is too small and there is too much nothing like all you see is sky it just seems odd to me that almost the whole screen is something that doesn't have to do with the gameplay.  I would say make the character bigger so it would take up screen space or make the character first then the stuff to fit around the character like the window size.

the tree doesn't look so much like a tree as it does a twig sticking out of the ground. It's just about as tall as your already tiny main character. Trees are big objects, some are over 100 feet tall. This one clocks in at about 5/6 feet, judging by its size proportional to your character. Try making it bigger and better. Give it a good shape, add some width to it so it's less of a twig. Give it some texture to show it's a tree. Look outside and study some trees to get a better understanding of their size, shape, and texture.
