Just gonna take a quick couple of crits before I start on animating.

Just a quickie;

I think his feet are a bit big for platform animation, they kind of feel like two big blocks whereas the rest of the sprite feels a more flexible.

I like it though! Let's see some animation!

just quickly, you should take the black outline off the bottom of his feet, because it will help give the illusion that he is actually standing on the surface he is running on.
