Title: Alien/Slime Sprites.
Post by: Mushi on August 09, 2009, 02:25:02 am
Well, recently I've been lurking this site a lot, and have only recently decided to post something :D

Only recently I've started trying hue-shifting, and other techniques, so I decided to make these guys to experiment with colors.
Well, here they are.
(http://www.iaza.com/work/090809C/aliens2ndup2181269015-iaza.gif) 8 colors, not including transparency.
Some parts I don't quite like myself are the thick outlines on one side, but I want to keep that kind of effect. (I'd find an example, but I'm kind of in a hurry typing this)

Also, I'm not sure what colors look better, the green, or purple.

So, I'm looking for constructive critism on these guys, thanks!  ;D

Here i did a quick edit of the first few
sprites.

I changed the shading around to help make it more
readable at 100% zoom.

hey mush, you should work some on the shapes of the 4th and 7th, they look kinda flat.

Someone say my name?

Anyway, I think the magenta color used as the darkish shade on a couple of them is too harsh of a contrast compared to the other shades.
