You’re standing in the Construct Factory, staring at those four eerie pedestals, and you realize you’ve actually got to go through with this. Building Mineru’s body in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a massive undertaking, but the Left Leg Depot is often where players hit a literal and metaphorical wall. It’s dark. It’s confusing. The physics puzzles feel just a little bit "off" compared to the rest of the game.
Honestly? Most people struggle here because they try to over-engineer the solution. You see a series of elevators and think you need some complex flying machine. You don't. You just need to understand how the game wants you to manipulate the environment using Ultrahand and a little bit of patience.
Where the Left Leg Depot Actually Is
Finding the place is half the battle if you haven't mapped out the Depths yet. If you're looking at the Construct Factory (which is directly south of the Muokuij Lightroot), the Left Leg Depot is situated to the south-east. You’ll see the green light emitting from the entrance. Once you interact with the terminal, a block containing the left leg falls from the ceiling. This is your "cargo."
Your goal is simple: get that box from the starting point to the exit. But there’s a massive gap, a lot of lava, and a series of rotating platforms in your way.
The First Elevator Hurdle
The first room is basically a tutorial. You’ll see two elevators. Place the box on one, hit the fan (or just let the elevator do its thing), and move up. This part is intuitive. The problem starts once you reach the second level.

Here, you’ll encounter a large, rotating bridge. There's a crank nearby. You can turn the crank to adjust the angle of the bridge. Most players spend ten minutes spinning this thing, trying to align it perfectly. Don't do that. Just get it "close enough" so you can attach some rockets to your box and blast it across.
Solving the "Rocket Bridge" Puzzle
This is the meat of the Left Leg Depot. You have a long, angled track. It’s meant to guide the box upwards, but gravity is a jerk.
Look around the room. You’ll find two rockets and some fans. The intended solution—at least, the one that doesn't involve cheesing the game with Hover Bikes—is to attach the rockets to the side of the box at a 45-degree angle. You want the box to slide along the rail, not fly off into the abyss.
Attach the box to the rail using the U-shaped groove. It’s specifically designed to hook onto the lip of the metal track. If you just place the box on the rail, it’ll fall. If you hook it, and then fire the rockets, it zips right up to the top floor. It’s satisfying. It’s also one of those moments where the game’s physics engine really shines, provided you didn't accidentally attach the rocket backward. We've all done it.

Dealing With the Laser Room
Once you're past the rail, you're nearly home free, but there's a corridor filled with lasers. If the lasers touch you, or the box, the gates close.
- Option A: Use Ultrahand to move the box through the lasers slowly, then use Recall to make it move back while you run through.
- Option B: Just build a long stick out of nearby Zonai capsules and push the box through.
I prefer the Recall method. It feels like you're outsmarting the architects of the Depths. Once the box is through, you’ll find yourself on a high ledge overlooking the Construct Factory. There's a wing and some fans nearby. Attach the box to the wing, aim it toward the center of the factory, and enjoy the glide down.
Why This Depot Is Different
Unlike the Right Arm Depot or the Left Arm Depot, the Left Leg Depot focuses heavily on verticality and guided movement. The Right Arm Depot is more about the "conveyor belt" and electrified water puzzles. The Left Leg is purely about thrust and rails.
A common misconception is that you need a high battery capacity to finish this. You really don't. Most of the puzzles here use one-shot Zonai devices like rockets or short-burst fans. If you’re running low on energy, just wait a few seconds between stages. There’s no rush. The Depths aren't going anywhere.

Glitches and Shortcuts (If You’re Impatient)
If you’ve already finished the game once and you’re on a second playthrough, you might not want to do the "intended" way.
You can technically bypass almost all the puzzles in the Left Leg Depot if you have a Steering Stick and two Fans in your inventory. Just take the box, attach the fans and the stick to it, and fly it straight out of the depot toward the Construct Factory. The game doesn't stop you. The only "hard" gate is the initial terminal that spawns the box. Once the box is in the world, the physics engine is your playground.
Putting it All Together at the Construct Factory
When you finally land back at the factory, bring the box to the specific mold for the left leg. The box will shatter, revealing the actual leg part. Use Ultrahand to rotate it—this can be finicky, so take your time—and slot it into the slot.
You'll hear that classic Zelda "puzzle solved" chime. That’s one more piece of Mineru's Construct done. Only three more to go (unless this was your last one, in which case, congrats on the new robot).
Expert Tips for Smooth Sailing
- Brightbloom Seeds: Seriously, throw them everywhere. The Left Leg Depot has some dark corners where you can easily lose your footing.
- The U-Hook: That U-shaped piece of stone is the most important tool in the room. If your box is falling off the rail, it's because you haven't secured the hook properly.
- Recall is Broken: If you drop the box off a ledge, don't jump after it. Use Recall. It has a massive range. You can pull that box back from the void as long as you can still see it.
- Fans vs. Rockets: Rockets are for the steep incline. Fans are for the final glide. Don't swap them. A rocket-powered wing usually ends in a crash.
To successfully navigate the Left Leg Depot, focus on the rail system and don't overthink the laser room. Use the provided U-shaped blocks to secure the leg piece to the tracks, and rely on Recall if the physics don't go your way. Once you've cleared the top rail, use a Wing to glide the piece directly back to the Construct Factory's central hub for assembly.
Actionable Steps for Completion
- Locate the Entrance: Head to the southeast corner of the Construct Factory in the Depths to find the terminal.
- The First Lift: Use the elevators to bring the box to the second floor.
- The Rail Puzzle: Attach the box to the U-shaped slider on the rail. Place two rockets on the sides at a 45-degree angle pointing up.
- The Laser Corridor: Use Recall or simply move the box past the lasers with Ultrahand before sprinting through yourself.
- The Final Glide: Attach the box to a Wing with Fans and fly it back to the main Construct Factory floor to complete the leg assembly.
