You’ve probably seen the clips. V moves so fast that a room full of Arasaka goons looks like a collection of wax statues, then—blink—everyone is on the floor before a single bullet leaves a barrel. That’s the Militech Apogee Sandevistan in action. It is, quite literally, the "Edgerunners" power fantasy.
But here is the thing: getting it isn't just about walking into a shop with a fat stack of eddies.
Honestly, the way Cyberpunk 2077 handles high-end loot now is a bit of a headache if you’re still thinking in "pre-2.0 update" terms. You can’t just rush a specific Ripperdoc at level 10 and cheese the system anymore. The game is smarter than that. It scales with you. If you want the Apogee, you have to play by Night City's new, grittier rules.
The Level 40 Wall (and How to Scale It)
The most important thing you need to know is the number 40.
Basically, the Militech Apogee is a Tier 5 Iconic piece of cyberware. In the current 2.12 (and beyond) ecosystem, Tier 5 gear simply does not exist in the world for you until you hit level 40. You can have 50 Street Cred and millions of Eurodollars, but if your character level is 38, every Ripperdoc in the city will suddenly "coincidentally" be out of stock.
It’s annoying. I know.

Once you hit level 40, the Apogee starts appearing at any Ripperdoc in Night City. There’s no "secret" doctor anymore. Viktor, Fingers (if you didn't punch his lights out), the doc in Wellsprings—they all get the same shipments. If you’re level 40 and you don’t see it, just step outside, skip time for 24 hours, and check again.
Can you get it earlier?
Sorta. But it’s a gamble.
There are reports of players finding the Apogee as random loot in chests as early as level 35 or 37. Specifically, high-end "boss" chests at the end of Gigs or Main Jobs have a tiny chance to roll a Tier 5 Iconic.
If you want to try your luck, hit these locations around level 35:
- The Black Sapphire (Dogtown): There’s a container near the exit after the "You Know My Name" mission.
- "Hacking the Hacker" Gig: Check the locked room that requires Tech ability.
- "Dirty Biz" Gig: Regina’s mission with the father-son BD tuners often has high-tier loot in the back office.
But seriously, don't waste ten hours "save-scumming" a chest. Just go do some NCPD Subcon missions and hit level 40. It’s faster.

Why the Apogee is Actually Better Than the Falcon
People love to argue about this. Some say the Militech Falcon is better because it lasts longer. They aren't technically wrong—the Falcon has a better base duration.
But they’re missing the point.
The Apogee is about momentum. It slows time down to a crawl (85% reduction), which is significantly more than the Falcon’s 70%. When time is that slow, you aren't just moving fast; you’re existing in a different dimension.
More importantly, the Apogee gives you stamina back on every kill.
If you’re running a Katana or Mantis Blade build, stamina is your lifeblood. The Falcon gives you health back, which is fine, but if you're moving so fast that nobody can hit you, why do you need healing? You need to keep swinging. The Apogee keeps the engine running.

The "Hidden" Requirements
Even after you buy the thing for roughly 118,000 eddies, you might realize you can't actually use it.
- Cyberware Capacity: This is the big one. The Apogee is "heavy." It costs around 44 points of your capacity. If you’ve already stuffed your skeleton with armor and your legs with double-jump tendons, you might be over the limit.
- Reflexes: You don’t strictly need 20 Reflexes to equip it, but you're crazy if you don't have them. The perks in the Reflex tree—specifically "Extended Warranty"—make the Sandevistan feel infinite.
How to Make It Feel Like the Anime
To truly unlock the power of the Militech Apogee Sandevistan, you shouldn't just slot it in and call it a day. You need the Axolotl.
The Axolotl is a piece of Frontal Cortex cyberware you get for completing all of Regina Jones’s gigs. It reduces all cyberware cooldowns whenever you neutralize an enemy.
Pairing the Apogee with the Axolotl and the "Cyborg" perk (from the Technical Ability tree) creates a loop. You activate the Sandy, kill three guys, get your duration extended, turn it off, and because of the cooldown reduction, it’s ready to go again in about three seconds.
It’s broken. It’s beautiful.
Actionable Steps to Get Your Apogee Today
Stop wandering around Watson hoping for a miracle. Follow this:
- Grind to Level 40: Stop skipping side content. The "Phantom Liberty" missions give massive XP, so head to Dogtown if you’re under-leveled.
- Check the Technical Ability Tree: Ensure you have enough points in "Renaissance Punk" to actually fit the Apogee into your build.
- Visit the Wellsprings Ripperdoc: While any doc works, this one is right next to a fast travel point and usually has the best inventory resets.
- Farm Materials: If you find the Apogee at Tier 5, you’ll want to upgrade it to Tier 5++ immediately. Start breaking down every Tier 5 weapon you find for components.
Go get that chrome. Just try not to go cyberpsycho in the process.
