You're standing in the middle of your base, looking at a hungry Penking, and realizing you can't make a single loaf of bread or a cake for breeding because you’re missing one tiny, annoying ingredient. Wheat seeds in Palworld are basically the gatekeeper to the mid-game. If you don't have them, your progress just stops. No cake means no breeding. To get wheat seeds in Palworld reliably, you need to target specific Pals. The most common "loot piñata" for seeds is Dinossom. You’ve probably seen them—the big, green, flowery sauropod things that look peaceful until you accidentally hit them with a stray arrow.
Dinossoms are usually around level 15 to 18 in the early areas. They aren't exactly pushovers if you're only level 5, but they are the most consistent source of seeds. If you manage to take one down or catch it, you’re almost guaranteed a drop of wheat seeds.
But maybe you don't want to fight a giant grass dragon. That's fair. You can also hunt Flopis, Bristlas, or Gumoss. Gumoss are everywhere in the grassy biomes and they are much easier to handle. In Palworld, breeding is the only way to get high-tier Pals without spending hours throwing Legendary Spheres at a 2% catch rate. To make a single Cake, you need 5 Flour. That means you need a Mill (unlocked at Level 15) and a Pal with the Watering trait to grind that wheat into flour.

- Wheat seeds grow into Wheat.
- Wheat goes into the Mill to become Flour.
