Finding Silksong memory locket locations: How to finally max your tool slots

You’ve finally beaten the Last Judge, or maybe you're just wandering through the mossy dampness of the Grotto, and you realize your Crest looks... empty. It’s annoying. You have all these cool tools like the Cogfly or the Straight Pin, but nowhere to put them. That’s where the hunt for silksong memory locket locations begins.

Honestly, these things are the "Notches" of Pharloom. If you want a build that actually works—one where you aren't constantly choosing between a healing buff and a lethal sawblade—you need all twenty. No shortcuts. Well, actually, there are a few shortcuts if you know which walls to smack.

Why you're probably missing that one locket in Greymoor

Most players hit 19/20 and want to pull their hair out. Usually, the culprit is the Halfway Home in Greymoor. It’s a classic Team Cherry move. You walk into the building, see the bench, see the NPC, and leave.

Wrong.

Go to the northwestern corner of that room. You’ll need the Faydown Cloak for this. If you jump up and walk through the wall on the top left ledge, there’s a hidden crawlspace. It’s not on the map. It doesn't look like a door. But the locket is just sitting there on a backpack.

The tricky ones in Far Fields and Bone Bottom

Early game, you basically have to be a completionist or you'll be underpowered by the time you hit the Citadel.

  1. The Bone Bottom Board: Don't ignore the "Volatile Flintbeetles" wish. It sounds like a generic fetch quest, but once you clear the beetles in The Marrow and turn it back in at the Wishwall, you get a locket. It's one of the easiest to get, yet so many people skip the board entirely.
  2. Mort's Shop: Mort is tucked away in Pilgrim's Rest (Far Fields). It costs 30 Rosaries just to open his door, which feels like a scam, but just do it. Once you're inside, pay the 150 Rosaries for the locket. Pro tip: break the mechanism above the door from the inside so you never have to pay the entry fee again.
  3. The Cage: Also in Far Fields, there’s a corpse in a hanging cage at the end of a spike-filled corridor. You have to pogo off the red buds to reach it. Break the cage, loot the body. Simple, but the platforming can be a nightmare if your timing is off.

Silksong memory locket locations you can only reach in Act 3

Pharloom changes. Once you hit the later stages of the game (Act 3), some areas open up while others become significantly more dangerous.

There is a specific locket in the Deep Docks that drives people crazy. It’s at the very bottom, left of the diving bell chamber. Look for a narrow shaft with a breakable wall. Behind it is a chasm filled with searing hot spikes. Most people don't find this until the endgame because it feels like a death trap. If you have the Silk Soar, it becomes a lot easier to navigate.

Then there's the "Secret of the Bellhart." You’ll need to head back to the town after getting the Silk Soar from the Abyss. Go to the top platform where the staircase drops down. If you use your super jump (Silk Soar) through the tiny opening in the ceiling, there’s a hidden attic space. A husk there is holding your prize.

The Bilewater Cocoon

Bilewater is a mess. It’s toxic, it’s green, and it’s easy to get lost. Most people look for lockets on pedestals or in chests. In Bilewater, one is hidden inside a cocoon hanging from the ceiling in the top-right section of the map. You have to jump up, slash the cocoon, and a body will fall out. The locket drops with it. If you’re just running through trying to avoid the poison bubbles, you’ll walk right under it.

The full list of where to look

Basically, if a wall looks slightly different or a room feels too empty, hit something. Here is the general breakdown of where the twenty lockets are scattered:

  • Bone Bottom: One from the Flintbeetle quest reward.
  • The Marrow: One is right of the top-middle bench (needs the shellwood climb).
  • Hunter's March: Look for the bone cage in the lower-right corner, past the red flowers.
  • Deep Docks: Hidden behind the breakable wall in the diving bell shaft.
  • Far Fields: Two here. One from Mort’s shop, one in the hanging cage.
  • Greymoor: Two here. One in the Halfway Home secret room, one on a ledge near the Bellway.
  • Bellhart: Two here. One sold by Frey for 330 Rosaries, one in the Silk Soar ceiling secret.
  • Bilewater: Two here. One in the ceiling cocoon, one at the end of the western platforming gauntlet.
  • Underworks: Tucked behind a window in a room you have to drop into from above.
  • Wormways: At the very end of the long tunnels (requires a Simple Key).
  • Blasted Steps: Check with Grindle in Act 3 if you missed any merchant ones; he often stocks them as "lost goods."

How to use them without regretting it

A lot of players hoard these because they’re afraid of "wasting" them. Look, you eventually get enough to max out every Crest you find. But early on, focus on your primary Crest (usually Hunter or Wanderer).

Unlocking a slot is permanent for that specific Crest. If you use a locket on the Hunter Crest, you can't "un-use" it to put it on the Architect Crest later.

If you're going for a red-heavy build (offensive tools), unlock the red slots first. If you find yourself dying a lot, those blue support slots are lifesavers. The yellow utility slots are great for "Dead Bug's Purse" or the Compass, but they shouldn't be your priority if you're struggling with bosses.

Final check for 100% completion

If you’re stuck at 18 or 19 lockets, go back to the merchants. Frey in Bellhart won't even open her shop until you finish "The Threadspun Town" quest. If you did that but didn't buy the locket immediately, it’s easy to forget. Also, remember that some lockets move to Grindle’s shop in the Blasted Steps if the original NPC becomes... unavailable... during the Act 3 transition.

Go lick some walls. If you find a hidden area and there’s a dead bug in it, you’ve probably found what you’re looking for.

To get the most out of your newly expanded slots, you should start farming Rosaries in the Gilded Citadel to afford the high-end tools sold by the Architecture guild, as many of those require three or more slots to truly shine in a build.
