Finding a Ralts has always been a bit of a headache in Pokémon games. Usually, they've got like a 1% spawn rate in some obscure patch of grass that makes you want to pull your hair out. Luckily, Pokémon Legends: Z-A handles things a little differently. Since the whole game takes place within the confines of Lumiose City, you aren't trekking through endless forests. Instead, you're hunting through urban courtyards and rooftop gardens.
Honestly, if you're trying to snag one for a Gardevoir or a Gallade early on, you need to know exactly which "Sector" to hit. The map in this game is dense. It’s easy to walk right past a rare spawn because you’re looking at the flashy neon lights instead of the quiet corners.
Where to find Ralts in Legends ZA
The most reliable spot to find Ralts early in the game is Vert Sector 4. You’ll find this area roughly halfway up Vernal Avenue. If you know where Café Classe is, you’re basically there—the entrance is right behind the café.
Look for an enclosed courtyard. It’s a grassy area filled with construction scaffolding and a bunch of Bunnelby hopping around. People usually miss the Ralts because it huddles in the very back corner. It’s tiny. If it spots you and vanishes (which it loves to do), just fast-travel back to the café to reset the instance.
If you’ve progressed a bit further and have access to the Rouge District, there’s another cool spawn point. Head to the Galerie de la Lune shopping center. You actually have to get onto the roof for this one.
Climb the scaffolding on the north side. You’ll eventually need to use the Roto-glide to reach the glass dome in the center. It sounds like a lot of work, but the Ralts up there are often slightly higher level, which saves you some grinding time later.
Sector 9 and the Hidden Weeds
There is a third, somewhat "hidden" spot that most players overlook because it requires a specific move.
- Head to Vert Sector 9, which is near Hotel Z and Wild Zone 1.
- Look for a small alleyway near the Quasartico Inc. building.
- You’ll see a patch of grass blocked by dry weeds/branches.
- Use a Fire-type move to burn them away.
Once those weeds are gone, they don't grow back. This spot is great because it consistently spawns two Ralts at a time. It’s the best place to farm if you’re looking for a specific gender or a nature that isn't terrible.
Hunting for Alpha Ralts
If you're looking for an Alpha Ralts, the courtyard behind Quasartico Inc. is your best bet. Alphas in this game are no joke—they’ve got those glowing red eyes and will absolutely try to wreck your team if you aren't careful.

I’ve found that the Alpha has a much higher chance of appearing at night. If you show up and it’s just a regular tiny Ralts, just head to a bench, pass the time until the next night cycle, and check again.
Why the Gender Matters
Keep in mind that if you want a Gallade, you absolutely must catch a male Ralts. You’d be surprised how many people spend hours leveling up a Kirlia only to realize they caught a female one and are stuck with Gardevoir. To get Gallade, you’ll need that male Ralts and a Dawn Stone, which you can usually snag from the Stone Emporium or by trading Mega Shards at Quasartico Inc.
Pro Tips for the Catch
Stealth is everything here. Ralts is a "Flee" type Pokémon. If it catches a glimpse of you, it’s gone in a puff of psychic energy.
- Smoke Bombs: Use them. Especially in the Sector 4 courtyard where there isn't much tall grass to hide in.
- Backstrikes: Always aim for the back of the head. The catch bonus for a backstrike in Legends: Z-A is significant.
- The Mystery Gift: Check your menu! Sometimes there are active Mystery Gift distributions—specifically, there was one for a Ralts holding a Gardevoirite that runs until early 2026.
Basically, don't overthink it. Stick to the courtyards in the Vert Sectors and keep your eyes peeled for that little green "bowl cut" hiding in the weeds. If you're patient with the resets, you'll have a Gardevoir or Gallade on your team before you even hit the mid-game Royale tournaments.
Next Steps:
Go to the Vert Sector 4 courtyard behind Café Classe. If the Ralts doesn't spawn on your first entry, use the fast-travel point at the café to "cycle" the spawns until it appears. Once you have a male Ralts, start saving your Mega Shards—you'll need 240 of them to buy a Galladite or Gardevoirite from Quasartico Inc. later on.
