Actually, let's talk about the mystery bags for a second. The Epic Mystery Bag costs 1,000 candy. Is it worth it? Sorta. If you’re hunting for a specific roll on a Mechabre or a Jurassic Green, it’s the only way to gambit your way there outside of focusing. But the drop rates are notoriously fickle. You’re usually better off saving that candy for the focused decoding at Eva, which, let's be real, is expensive as hell this year.

  3. Legend Haunted Sectors: If you have a competent trio, do not bother with the normal version. Legend mode yields significantly more candy and better weapon drop rates. The enemies are tougher, sure, but if you’re at the power cap, it’s not a huge jump in difficulty.

The Mask Tax

Remember that your mask is basically a massive stat penalty. It has zero stats. It has no masterwork benefits in the traditional sense. This means your build is going to take a hit. I see a lot of Hunters complaining about their dodge cooldown or Warlocks wondering why their recovery feels sluggish.

What Most People Get Wrong About Manifested Pages

There is a huge misconception that more candy equals more pages. It doesn't work like that. You get Spectral Pages from doing "normal" activities, and then you transform them into Manifested Pages by killing Headless Ones in Haunted Sectors.

The "farm" is actually two-fold.

First, you go to the EDZ and farm Public Events. This caps out your Spectral Pages and gives you a massive base of candy. Then, and only then, do you go into the Haunted Sectors to convert them. If you just live in the Haunted Sectors, you’ll run out of pages and your candy gains will feel much slower because you aren't getting the "Manifested" bonus rewards.

It's a rhythm. Public events, then sectors. Rinse and repeat.

The Best Weaponry for Candy Efficiency

You want things that clear rooms. Fast.

  • Trinity Ghoul: If you have the catalyst, this is the king of Altars of Sorrow. One arrow clears a whole wave of thrall.
  • Sunshot: With the recent buffs to hand cannons and the explosion chains, it’s a candy-generating machine.
  • Graviton Lance: Good for those Void-focused builds, especially if you’re running a Gyrfalcon's Hunter.

The faster you kill, the faster the candy spawns. There is a slight internal cooldown on how often candy can drop from "red bar" enemies, which is why focusing on "yellow bars" and bosses is generally more lucrative.

Is it even worth the grind?

Honestly? It depends on what you’re after. If you want the memento—the all-black shader one—you’re going to need to farm. A lot. The mementos are rare drops from the Eerie Engrams, and you buy those with... you guessed it, candy and ghostly reflections.

Last year, people were complaining that the grind was too steep. Bungie adjusted it slightly, but it’s still a time sink. The reality of a Destiny 2 candy farm is that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. If you try to get everything in one sitting, you’ll hate the game by Tuesday.

Stop what you’re doing and check your mask. Is it the highest power level it can be? If not, infuse it. You don’t want to be dragging your overall power level down and making the enemies spongier than they need to be.

Next, head to the Moon. Spend thirty minutes at Altars of Sorrow. Don't even worry about the event quest yet. Just kill. Collect. Get a feel for the drop rates. Once you have a stack of about 2,000 candy, head back to Eva and see what you can get.

Don't forget the bounties. Eva’s daily and additional bounties are easy. They usually just ask you to kill things with specific elements. It’s free candy for stuff you were going to do anyway. Stack them. Always.

If you’re feeling efficient, grab a fireteam and rotate through the Legend Haunted Sectors. The difficulty spike is worth the reward multiplier. Just make sure someone is running anti-barrier or whatever the seasonal champions require. Nothing kills a farm faster than a Barrier Knight that nobody can stop.

Focus on the "Acres of Candy" or whatever the specific seasonal challenge is called first. Those completion rewards are the biggest bumps you’ll get. Once those are done, the Vanguard playlist is your most consistent "dollars-per-hour" equivalent.
