Ever get a random text in Night City from someone named Jim B and think your save file was haunted? You're not alone. Honestly, it feels like a prank. One minute you’re just cruising through the neon rain of Heywood, and the next, some guy named Jim is telling you about rogue jokers taking over the gambling scene.
It’s not a bug. It’s a love letter to Balatro.
If you haven't played Balatro, it’s that poker roguelike that took over everyone’s Steam Deck in 2024. CD Projekt Red decided to hide a secret scavenger hunt in Update 2.2 as a crossover. It’s subtle. There’s no quest marker. No hand-holding. Just Jim B sending you grainy photos like a cryptic ex-boyfriend.
Finding all the cyberpunk jim b locations is basically a test of how well you actually know the layout of Night City. Here is the real deal on where these things are hiding.
The Hunt for Jimbo’s Jokers
You start this whole mess by waiting. After the 2.2 update, Jim B (a nod to Jimbo, the Balatro mascot) eventually pings your phone. He sends a photo of a rainy bus stop. That’s your first clue.
Most people think it’s just flavor text. It isn’t.
1. The North Oak Bus Stop (Ride the Bus)
Fast travel to the Columbarium in North Oak. It’s that massive, peaceful resting place for the city’s elite. Turn around and look at the bus stop right across the street. On the bench, you’ll find the first card and a shard called "Ride the Bus."
2. The Golden Bird (Golden Joker)
Once you grab the first one, Jim sends another photo. This one is of a golden statue. Stay in North Oak. Head just a bit north of that same Columbarium fast travel point to the roundabout. Look at the base of the golden bird statue. The Golden Joker shard is sitting right there.
3. Misty’s Esoterica (Lucky Cat)
This one is a bit of a nostalgia trip. Head to Watson, specifically the Bradbury & Buran fast travel point near V’s first apartment. Walk toward the "Jacked and Coke" sign and find Misty’s shop. Look at the wall near the door—there’s a tiny joker tag. Go inside and check the shelf with the Maneki-neko (lucky cat) statues. The shard is on the floor.
Getting High and Staying Wet
The next few locations require some platforming. Night City is vertical. If you aren't looking up (or down), you're going to miss half the content.
4. Delamain HQ Roof (Drivers License)
This one is a pain. Head to Delamain HQ in Heywood. You can’t just walk into the lobby for this one. You need to get onto the roof. Go around to the back of the building and look for air conditioning units or crates to jump on. The Drivers License card is on the roof near the front side.
5. Cannery Plaza Waterfront (Splash)
Go to the Cannery Plaza data term in Heywood. Walk toward the water. There is a ladder leading down into the murky, polluted bay. Jump in. Don't worry, V can handle the toxins. Scan the area underwater near the ladder to find the Splash shard. It’s literally at the bottom of the sea.
6. Jinguji Store (Spare Trousers)
Time to get classy. Travel to the Jinguji clothing store in the City Center. Walk past the pretentious clerk and look for the giant billboard inside the shop. Tucked behind that sign is the Spare Trousers card.
7. The Glass Dome (Hologram)
This is probably the coolest spot. Go to Corpo Plaza (Arasaka Tower fast travel). You need to get to the very top of the glass memorial in the center of the plaza. Yes, the place where Rebecca... well, you know. Right in the center of the glass, by the holo-projector, you'll see a pile of poker chips and the Hologram shard.
Finishing the Set in Japantown
The final stretch takes you through the crowded markets and back alleys of Westbrook.

- The Silver Statue (Sixth Sense): Go to the Cherry Blossom Market. Look at the massive four-armed silver statue. Climb onto its base. The joker tag is on the statue's right foot.
- The Strip Club (Lusty Joker): Head from the statue toward Jig-Jig Street. On the left, there's a shop with neon red lips. Go inside, hop behind the bar, and you’ll find the Lusty Joker card.
- The Ramen Shop (Ramen Joker): This is the end of the line. Across from the strip club, go down the stairs. Look for a 24-hour ramen shop near where the Samurai fan hangs out. Go into the back storage room.
The Reward for Your Troubles
Once you collect all ten, Jim B finally leaves you alone. But he doesn't leave you empty-handed.
Check your wardrobe. You’ll have a new White Joker T-shirt. It’s clean, simple, and has a custom joker design. Even better, head back to V's main apartment in Megabuilding H10. You'll find a small Balatro trophy on your shelf. It’s a nice little "I was there" marker for the 2024/2025 era of the game.
Why This Matters in 2026
Cyberpunk 2077 development has officially wrapped, but these "secret" updates are why the game has such a long tail. It's not just about fixing bugs anymore. It's about world-building. These crossovers make Night City feel like it’s connected to the wider gaming culture.
If you're stuck, the trick is always to look at the photos Jim sends. They aren't random. They are specific framing shots. If a photo has a pink flamingo in the background, you're looking for a very specific alleyway in Japantown.
Actionable Next Steps:
- Check your messages: If you haven't seen a text from Jim B yet, skip time forward by 24 hours a few times in-game.
- Unlock Fast Travel: Make sure you have the North Oak and Cannery Plaza data terms unlocked to save yourself a twenty-minute drive.
- Check your Apartment: The reward trophy won't trigger until you've picked up the final "Ramen" shard in the back of the Jig-Jig street shop.
The hunt is purely for the fans. It won't give you a legendary Sandevistan or a Tier 5 sniper, but it gives you a reason to actually look at the architecture of the city one last time.
