You’ve seen the suit. The Black Pearl is easily one of the most sought-after outfits in Stellar Blade, but Shift Up didn't make it easy. To get it, you have to find all 49 cans scattered across a world that really doesn't want you poking around in its corners. It’s a lot of work. Honestly, hunting down can locations Stellar Blade players often miss is basically a test of patience and your ability to platform with a double jump that sometimes feels just a little too floaty.
But it’s not just about the fashion. Every few cans you bring back to the display case in Xion, Eve gets a permanent buff. We’re talking more grenades, more potions, and eventually, the ability to carry enough WB Pumps to make boss fights significantly less stressful.
If you're stuck at 48/49, don't worry. It's usually the one in the Great Desert that requires the weird puzzle.
Eidos 7: Where the Hunt Begins
You only have three cans to find here, but they are surprisingly easy to skip if you’re just rushing to the next boss.
- Potential Blast (No. 33): This one is in the Construction Zone. You’ll need to climb up into the ruins of a building where a Cricket Slasher is waiting to jump you. It’s sitting on a table near some mesh fencing.
- Elixir Carrot (No. 25): You can't get this right away. You have to finish the "Oblivion" side quest to drain the water in the Flooded Commercial Sector. Once the water is gone, head to the shop called "Red Grill." It’s on a shelf inside.
- Cryo Original (No. 1): Also in the Flooded Commercial Sector after you drain it. Just look for a vending machine at the very bottom of the plaza.
Most people miss these because they forget to come back after draining the water. Don't be that person.
Xion: The Vending Machine City
Xion has eight cans. Most of them are literally inside vending machines. You walk up, Eve gives the machine a swift kick, and a can pops out. It’s satisfying.
- Pixie (No. 3): Northern part of the main square. Just sitting on the ground.
- The Machinetta Caramel Macchiato (No. 11): Vending machine in the northeast corner of the main square.
- Behemoth Red (No. 27): In the alleyway leading to the bar where Enya and Su hang out.
- Bayern Weissbier Dunkel (No. 45): Down an alley south of the Bulletin Board.
- Dionysus C (No. 36): North of the Bulletin Board near the stairs.
- Mountain Sparkle Mont Blanc (No. 39): Vending machine right by the Sisters' Junk shop.
- The Macchinetta Americano (No. 9): Near the Hair Salon, look for a balcony where an NPC named Erin is chilling.
- GrainT Oolong (No. 19): This is the tricky one. It's not in a machine. Go to the bridge by the Tetrapod, look down for a rope, and descend. You’ll find it in a chest at the bottom of the cliff.
The Wasteland: 15 Cans of Pain
The Wasteland is huge. There are 15 cans here, and some of them involve puzzles that are, frankly, kind of annoying.
The one that usually stops people is Potential Tempest (No. 34). It’s near the Solar Tower. You have to find three terminals in the area to unlock a chest sitting on top of some shipping crates. You also have to drag a yellow crate over just to reach it.
Then there’s Cryo Zero (No. 2). You’ll see a little flying robot. You have to shoot it, then it moves. You shoot it again, it moves again. Do this three times and it finally drops the can. It’s like the game is teasing you.
GrainT Barley (No. 18) involves a weight puzzle. You need to push carts onto pressure plates to balance the scale (3 on the left, 0 on the right). It’s located in a hidden area you can only reach by climbing the mountains near Altess Levoire.
Matrix 11 and The Great Desert
Matrix 11 is a bit of a breather with only three cans, but the Great Desert ramps it back up to 16.
Matrix 11 Essentials
- Newfoundland Dry (No. 5): In the Temporary Armory, hidden behind a pile of containers.
- Cryo Café Vanilla (No. 13): In the Rail Yard, sitting on a raised platform.
- Corsair Ale (No. 47): In the Train Graveyard, on top of a platform near the water.
The Great Desert Challenges
The Great Desert is where you'll spend most of your time. Mountain Sparkle Everest (No. 40) requires you to use a large box to block lasers. Liquid Nuclear (No. 32) forces you to do a weird bit of platforming over rubble into a courtyard.
But the real "fun" is Johnson's Highball Lemon (No. 48). It’s at the top of a rocky climb that requires you to move a large box and use specific ledges. If you miss a jump, you’re walking all the way back around.
Spire 4: The Point of No Return
There are four cans in Spire 4. Wait! Before you head here, make sure you have everything else. Once you finish the Abyss Levoire area, Xion becomes inaccessible for a while. Once you finish Spire 4, you’re locked out of everything.
- Milky Pop (No. 7): Right at the entrance of the Space Logistics Complex.
- Nectar Apple (No. 23): In the Raphael Space Center, sparkling on the ground near a corpse.
- Liquid Lightning (No. 31): Tucked behind shipping containers near the Logistics Center camp.
- Moonwell (No. 37): This is in a vending machine in the Maintenance Sector.
Pro Tip: If you somehow miss Moonwell, you can actually fish it up at the Oasis in the Great Desert. It's a weird backup mechanic Shift Up added just in case.
Why You Should Care About the Numbers
If you check the display case in Xion (right next to where Lily hangs out), you can see exactly which numbers you are missing. The cans are numbered 1 through 49. If you see a gap between 12 and 14, you know you’re missing number 13 (Cryo Café Vanilla).
This is way better than just wandering around hoping your drone pings something. Speaking of the drone—upgrade the scanner. The "Enhanced Camouflage" and "Drone Scanner" upgrades make finding can locations Stellar Blade much easier because the cans will glow through walls from a decent distance.
The Rewards Breakdown
- 1 Can: +1 Shock Grenade capacity.
- 7 Cans: +1 Lingering Potion capacity.
- 14 Cans: +1 Smart Mine capacity.
- 21 Cans: +1 Highly Concentrated Potion capacity.
- 28 Cans: +1 Pulse Grenade capacity.
- 35 Cans: +1 WB Pump capacity (This is huge).
- 42 Cans: +1 Sonic Grenade capacity.
- 49 Cans: The Black Pearl Nano Suit.
Actionable Steps for the Completionist
To wrap this up and get that suit, follow this specific order:
- Upgrade your drone's scanner immediately. You need the maximum range to find cans buried in the sand or behind crates.
- Clear Eidos 7 and Xion first. These are the easiest and establish a good baseline for your inventory upgrades.
- Do the "Oblivion" side quest. You literally cannot get all the cans without draining the Flooded Commercial Sector.
- Use the Display Case. Don't guess. Look at the empty spots in Xion to identify the specific ID numbers you need.
- Check the Great Desert Oasis. If you are at 48/49 and can't find the last one, try fishing. Sometimes the game "saves" a missed can there.
- Redeem before the end. Make sure you interact with the display case one last time before heading to the final area of the game to actually unlock the Black Pearl.
In New Game Plus, you keep all your cans. If you already have the Black Pearl, Lyle in Xion will sell you a recolored version called the Red Pearl. It looks just as good, maybe better depending on your vibe.
