You've spent hours grinding in the First Sea. You finally made it to the Second Sea, and suddenly, your base stats feel kinda mid. It happens to everyone. You see players dashing further, jumping higher, or regenerating health like they've got a cheat code active. Usually, that's not a hack. They just figured out Blox Fruits race V2 before you did. Honestly, the jump from your starting race to the second version is probably the single biggest power spike you’ll get in the mid-game, but the game doesn't exactly hold your hand to get there.
Most people think you just need money. It’s more than that. It’s a literal scavenger hunt across one of the most annoying maps in the game. If you don't know where the flowers spawn, you're going to waste three hours running in circles while some Bounty Hunter tries to combo you into oblivion.
Why Blox Fruits Race V2 Changes Everything
Look, V1 is basically just a cosmetic choice with a tiny passive. But once you hit V2? That’s when the "Human" race actually gets extra dodges. That’s when "Shark" starts making you nearly immune to water. It’s the difference between dying to a Sea Beast because you fell off your boat and actually being able to fight it while swimming.
Each race gets a specific buff that changes your playstyle. If you’re a Rabbit (Mink) user, your dash distance increases and your movement speed gets a massive multiplier. For Sky (Skypian) users, your V2 upgrade gives you more energy for your jumps, which is basically essential if you're a fruit user who needs to stay airborne to avoid ground-based AOE attacks.
The Alchemist’s Quest: The Real Starting Point
You can't just talk to any NPC. You have to find the Alchemist. He’s tucked away in the Green Zone. Specifically, you’ll find him under a giant mushroom near the back of the zone, close to where the Fajita boss spawns.
But wait. He won’t even look at you if you haven't finished the Colosseum Quest. You’ve got to talk to Bartilo in the Cafe first. He’s the guy who looks like a mobster. He’ll ask you to kill 50 Swan Pirates. Do it. Then he’ll ask you to kill Jeremy. He’s on the giant mountain next to the Kingdom of Rose. After that? You have to free the gladiators in the Colosseum by clicking the symbols on the wall in the right order.

Pro tip: Take a screenshot of the symbols under the table in the Swan Mansion. That’s the code for the Colosseum. If you don't do this, the Alchemist will just tell you to go away. It’s a common bottleneck that keeps players stuck on V1 for way too long.
Gathering the Flowers (The Hard Part)
Once the Alchemist acknowledges your existence, he’s going to ask for three flowers. Red, Yellow, and Blue. This is where most players lose their minds.
The Blue Flower only spawns at night. If the sun comes up and you haven't found it, it despawns. Period. It usually hides on Cave Island (through the tiny hole in the ceiling) or on Graveyard Island under the trees. Sometimes it’s on Usoap's Island. It’s annoying. You have to be fast.
The Red Flower is the opposite. It only spawns during the day. Check the flower beds in the Kingdom of Rose or the bushes around the Green Zone. I’ve found it most often near the plateau where the Swan Pirates hang out.
The Yellow Flower is the weird one. You don't find it on the ground. You have to kill NPCs. Any NPC in the Second Sea has a chance to drop it, but the drop rate is kinda low. Most players just farm the Swan Pirates since they’re easy to group up and kill in bulk.

Breaking Down the Racial Buffs
You need to know what you're actually paying for. It costs 500,000 Beli to complete the upgrade. That’s not cheap when you’re still trying to roll for better fruits.
- Human V2: You get increased dash distance and two extra instinct dodges. It’s "okay," but Human really only shines at V3 and V4.
- Shark (Fishman) V2: You take significantly less damage in water. If you’re a fruit user, this is a lifesaver. You still take some tick damage, but it won't delete your health bar in three seconds.
- Mink (Rabbit) V2: Speed. Pure speed. Your dash covers almost double the distance. It’s the best for traveling if you don't have a flight-capable fruit like Light or Magma.
- Skypian (Sky) V2: Higher jumps and better energy efficiency. It's niche but great for sword users who need to stay mobile.
- Cyborg & Ghoul V2: These are special. You don't start with these. If you've gone through the trouble of getting Ghoul (100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch), V2 gives you increased run speed at night and life leech on your fighting style attacks. That life leech is huge for raids.
Common Mistakes People Make
Don't die. Seriously. If you have the flowers in your inventory and a bounty hunter kills you, or you fall into the ocean, the flowers disappear. You have to start the collection process all over again. It is incredibly frustrating to have the Blue and Yellow flowers, only to die while waiting for the sun to rise to grab the Red one.
Also, don't try to find the flowers before talking to the Alchemist. They won't spawn. You have to trigger the quest first.
Another thing: 500k Beli sounds like a lot, but don't skip this. Some players try to push all the way to level 1000 without V2, and they get destroyed in PvP because they can't move fast enough. Your mobility is your best defense in Blox Fruits.
What Comes After V2?
V2 is just the gateway. Once you're level 1000, you can start looking toward V3, which involves the "Arowe" quest and killing a boss like Don Swan. But you can't even smell V3 without finishing V2 first.

The power gap between a V1 player and a V2 player is massive. In a 1v1 fight, a Mink V2 will literally run circles around a Mink V1. A Shark V2 can actually survive a ship raid if their boat breaks, while a V1 user is just shark bait.
Actionable Next Steps for Your Build
First, go to the Cafe and check your quest log. If you haven't finished Bartilo's missions, do that right now. Don't worry about the flowers yet. Just get the Colosseum cleared.
Second, start saving. If you're at 200k Beli, stop buying random fruit spins for two days. That 500k is a permanent investment in your character's stats.
Third, wait for the server time to hit night before you start the flower hunt. It’s much easier to find the Blue flower first, then wait for dawn to grab the Red one, rather than grabbing the Red one and praying you find the Blue one before the sun comes up.
Once you pay the Alchemist, the upgrade is permanent. Even if you switch races later using fragments or a code, you'll usually have to re-do the V2 quest for the new race, but you’ll already know the spawn locations. It gets faster every time you do it.
Get your movement speed up, fix your water weakness, and stop letting basic NPCs outmaneuver you. V2 is the point where you stop being a "noob" and actually start building a real character.
