Big Gay Al's Cats Locations: What Most Players Miss in the Scavenger Hunt

Honestly, if you've been wandering around South Park: The Fractured But Whole wondering why you can't find that last pink-scarfed feline, you aren't alone. It’s a total pain. Big Gay Al is standing outside his house, worried sick, and he’s drafted you into his "Big Gay Cat Adventure."

But here’s the thing: you can’t just walk up and grab them. They’re fast. They're skittish. And frankly, two of them are locked behind progress walls that most people hit on Day 2 and get frustrated by. To actually finish the quest and bag those Feline and Snowcat costume sets, you need more than just a map; you need the right Timefarts.

The Gear You Need First

Don't even bother starting the hunt until you have Timefart Pause. You get this during the "Medicinal Fried Fiasco" mission. Without it, you’ll just watch cats vanish into thin air the second you get close. If you accidentally scare one off, don't panic—just use Timefart Glitch to rewind the world and bring the little guy back to his starting position.

Finding the six cats is one thing; reaching them is another. Here is exactly where those furry runaways are hiding.

1. Big Gay Kirby (Bebe’s House)
Head over to the Stevens’ residence (Bebe’s place). Kirby is chilling on a tree branch right outside. This is your introduction to the mechanic: use a Snap N' Pop to break the branch. The second he hits the ground, slam that Pause button. If you're too slow, he's gone.

2. Big Gay Bono (The Church)
Bono is hanging out at the South Park Church. Look to the left of the main building, near the woods/graveyard area. He’s up in another tree. Same deal here—firecracker the branch, pause time, and scoop him up.

3. Big Gay Shadow (The Playground/Cinema)
This one is basically sitting in the open, which makes it feel like a trap. Shadow is in the pathway/field area between Main Street and the playground, just south of the Bijou Theater. Since there’s no tree to knock him out of, you have to be careful. Walk slowly, pause time while you're still a few feet away, and close the gap.

4. Big Gay Loki (South Park Mall)
Loki is hanging out at the construction site for the South Park Mall. Go to the far right of the site, past the port-a-potties and tool chests. He’s usually just sitting in the snow. Again, don't get too close before you freeze time, or he'll bolt.

5. Big Gay Bogie (The Canadian Border)
This is the one that trips everyone up because it requires a mini-puzzle. You have to go to Hillvale Farm (northeast corner of the map). A farmer is blocking the path to the woods.

  • Move the farmer to one side.
  • Use Timefart Pause.
  • Drag the memberberry basket to block his path.
  • Once you're past him, head north toward the Canadian border. Bogie is in a tree to the left of the "Canada" sign.

6. Big Gay Blossom (SoDoSoPa)
Blossom is the outlier. You find her in the ruins of SoDoSoPa (near Kenny’s house). You’ll need the Fartkour ability with Human Kite to reach the upper levels of the abandoned building. Surprisingly, Blossom is the only cat that doesn't require Timefart Pause; she’s just sitting on a plank, waiting for you to pick her up.

Why You Can't Find the Last Cat

If you are staring at your map and "Big Gay Al's cats locations" still looks incomplete, it’s probably a Day 3 issue. You literally cannot reach Bogie or Blossom until the game moves forward.

The path to Hillvale Farm is often blocked by a U-Stor-It truck earlier in the game, and SoDoSoPa is covered in "lava" (red Lego bricks) until you get the Sandblaster ability or progress the main story far enough. If a cat isn't spawning where the guides say it should be, leave the area and come back, or use the Glitch fart. There’s a known bug with Kirby where the branch disappears but the cat doesn't drop; if that happens, a quick area transition usually fixes the state of the world.

What do you actually get for this?

Once you hand over all six, Al doesn't just give you a "thanks." You get:

  • The Feline Costume Set (very Catwoman-esque).
  • The Snowcat Costume Set.
  • A hefty chunk of XP.
  • The chance to take a selfie with Big Gay Al.

Note that the selfie is vital if you're going for the "Coonstagram Hero" achievement. He won't take a photo with you while his cats are missing. He's a responsible pet owner like that.

Actionable Next Steps

  • Check your powers: Ensure "Timefart Pause" is in your inventory before you head to the farm.
  • Check the time: If you’re still on Day 1, focus on the main quest. This scavenger hunt is a multi-day commitment.
  • The "Farmer Block": Remember that you have to physically move the basket while time is frozen to trap the farmer at Hillvale; simply pausing isn't enough to get past his pathing.
  • Complete the Set: After finishing with Al, make sure to head inside and take a selfie with Mr. Slave too, since you're already there.
