i think not using selout and just using the solid colors as a border would help you out a little and make some things look a little cleaner

Haha, love the old man. So weary and full of character. Reminds me a little of the sorta' stuff Ken Fejer does. Wish I could draw faces like that.

hey every one. I picked up the critics on the Daniel Portrait, and updated it. thanks everyone that tiped!

here it is:

and a stripe with the progress

Original concept - line art - inicial blocking out - detailing.
this is pretty much how I work when it comes to pixel illustration.

and I also made this new portrait of another player. Carl, the tecnical player!!!

take care, and please, be so participative as with daniel!

gahaha I think they both are awesome. Love Carl...seems like the perfect geeky type. Maybe you can give him a D&D dice as a lucky charm or something :p

one more thing for Daniel, I know the style is just so it fits with your older portraits, but I just cant stand the highlight on his baldspot. it looks too big to be a specular, but it's too harshly contrasted to just be an extra skintone, so...you should either put a blending shade in there somewhere, OR make it an obvious specular ( one of the WIP versions makes it look more like a specular), maybe by giving it that typical window shape that identifies speculars? anyway, you should be able to figure it out :p I'm just throwing out ideas.

and MAN, that sketch looks even MORE like dr Wily XD. I insist you give Daniel a Wily-ish eyebrow wiggling emote :p

To be fair, poor little Marco didnt even know who Wily was before some mad megaman fanboy (read me :p) screamed and whined all over the place for a Dr.Wily reference :p

I think this is just good characterization, I think all of the characters are very striking and memorable, they all strike a chord in me and I'm sure I'd remember them if I played them in a game

wonderful, but I swear with a light touch of anti-aliasing it would look worlds better, but do not soften the wrinkles too much

heres the final version of daniel.

I didn't want to make him dr Wily, because I dont really know what dc wily looks like specifically, plus I dont want him do be the Bad Guy.

I did put this "Winner" badge on him. fans of megaman may look at it as "w" for Wily. so...
I fixed his eyes, now he is looking at us, and added the reflection on his forhead. :D

take care every one. hope you like this.
