Portrait for a mobile game

on: November 22, 2005, 03:25:21 pm
before any thing, this IS NOT Dr. Wily...

it's Daniel, the boss of a snooker game I'm designing
Camus was the one that pointed it out, since I've only player megaman X, like... this one time... I dont think I made the first level...

the hole old guy image is to make him look really experienced and all.

some of the old portraits can be found here:

Image size doesn't matter! It's what you do with your pixels that counts!

I like this alot. Hair on the top of the head could be illuminated more. Your pixeling is a bit dirty around the top of the head as well. The eyes stand out really well against all the flesh and hair tones. Shouldn't the ears get a step darker? They seem too light now. Sweet stuff. More portraits to come?

whoa. nice stuff again. :)

I can't for the life of me do caricatures(spelling?) like that. Never have, never will. :P

Oh yeah. What Peppermint Pig said about the ears.

Love it... Crits - pep pointed out all i could see wrong for example the bright ears and the slap section of hair. LOL

Thanks

Dan

Pool for mobile?  ;)
Good choice for avatar style.

Because of sizes of the head, Daniel avatar falls out of the general style. But it however best from other avatar.
Excuse me for my bad English! :/

the size is to make him stand out, since Daniel is going to be a sort of "boss". he's got +5 in the stats.

I agree with the darkening of the ears and the hair. I'll change that

thanks for the critis!

I'm not sure if you put up the piece for general crit, but the rounded edges of the chart bars makes it difficult to read the measurements.  I know, I know it's not very slick to have plain old flat edged bars. It just looks funky as it is.

yeah the rectangular... are pretty boring. but the round makes is confusing. agree. maybe only the corners should be rounded.
that's way I'm using color to help.

that is a simple problem, just make sure they have the botton edge, you can use a triangle, an arc...anything, doesnt have to be necesarily square to be clear

For me the chart bars are OK, the colors help a lot.

The guy is quite impressive !
