Feedback please

on: October 25, 2017, 08:28:29 am
Hello,

I need to make clear I'm not a pixel artist at all, I tried to train myself to make pixel art for some time but this is proving too hard for me so my hat off to all of you talented people.

Now, I was able to make this character and I will be able to make "anything" I will need in the future following the same techniques I used  to make this one but I wonder from the perspective of skilled artists how bad is it? what should I try to improve? is it good enough?

I will use all assets done with this technique in a project I been working on.

The majority of it looks fine to me, but those arms are kind of not great.
I'd redraw them to either be more proportional, or to have a smoother more flowy shape to them.

Try to channel some cartoonistry here, if he's supposed to be a pugnacious working man it might be a good idea to give him bigger hands and thick, round arms.

Try taking inspiration from various animations if you go that route, one of my favorite burly big-man designs is the butler from Cats Don't Dance, seen here:

Thanks man, yeah I don't like the arms either, I will modify the character and update the post when done.
