Practice anatomy through traditional art, not pixelart! You'll have a better understanding of the concepts for it!

Never start with pixel-art, first thing.
N e v e r.
I did this and it took me AGES to finally dig my head outta my butt long enough to start learning practical things like anatomy and cartoonism concepts before getting myself in order for it.

If you want a good place to start, begin with Basic shading or anatomy. I'll link two videos on those subjects, in that order even!
