I have made thousands of spritesheets, but I wanted some critique on this sprite I made awhile back. I decided to draw the ability hub from Kirby's Adventure, in the style of the Gameboy Color. I am most upset with the background of it. It seems so bland, and boring. I've always been been bad at backgrounds.

I don't think it really needs one, any more detail would obscure it too much.
Also, your image link is borked! Retry without the /a in the middle and a .png at the end!

Sorry. I just always feel there's something wrong with my drawings, and I really want to make things flashy. Thanks for the advice though.

Oh no, the feeling is perfectly understandable. It's good to temper it with those outside perspectives! In this case though, I'm approaching this from a mechanical angle! If you added a background to it it would make it too visually cluttered to easily tell what power it is during gameplay!
