I really like where these are going ;D

Only things I really want to mention is that the legs are kinda short, which is charming here but might look odd in animation if you plan to do any of that. And the perspective on the womans chest is odd. Definitely the boob is too bulgy at the top, and the shoulder is a bit too far back to convincingly come from a side view chest. Also her hands are a bit too stumpy.

Ah, thanks guys. Yeah the girl is positioned that way because for now it's the only way I can seem to show off her curves that signal her gender, without having her same-colored arms disappear into her torso.

Speaking of animation:

Technique wise that running animation is great, if not a bit slow. But for me there's just a bit to much head movement. Reduce that and the speed issue and you're there I think.

The arms and legs are very smooth and nice but that just makes the stiffness of the body more obvious. Try to get the spine to spring a little bit and the head to bob a bit in relation to the body and not just with the hips. Also try to make your timing less uniform, runs tend to look good when the arms and legs spend more time at the extremes and less time in the middle. I agree that the head rotation is a bit much and might look better if the head moved with the shoulders rather than against. Act the motion out yourself to get a feel for what would look right.

Thanks guys. In the meantime, I've spent about a day trying to make an orc here, it's unfinished and I seem to be struggling with the finer details but I've got the head and pose down:

Tried bringing up the quality on the sprites overall, also was looking for some input on this barbarian-type guy.

No prob, I prepared another edit of latest as well.

I tried to accentuate the weight of the breasts  :y: . I also made some form and shading edits here and there.
Hopefully it isn't too detailed now.

Meanwhile, that barbarian is legit; the way he's holding the weapon to the overall design is great  ;D

Speaking of animation:

I think a real runner would have the head more focused and have the shoulders move instead.

Made a quick edit of the run. You gave me a lot to work with. 18 frame run cycle! That's pretty ambitious!

The main thing is that the runner was feeling a bit weightless to me. His arms and legs were moving really smoothly but the core of him wasn't moving at all. I made his neck bear the weight of his head when his front foot makes impact with the ground and squished his body the tiniest bit. I think he feels like he has some weight/gravity now.

I made a second version with less frames to make it feel more like a run.

What an improvement! I did originally try a similar effect but, upon being initially unsuccessful, put it away and called it ready to post for now.

Looks a lot better with less frames as well, I'd say. Thanks for the attention to it.

No problem. You had so many frames choosing ones to focus on made for a pretty quick edit.

It's all coming along nicely.

Thanks, absenter. Before I go to bed tonight I wanted to share my work in progress of a thief-type guy.
