Creating a Map, Need Feedback

on: January 08, 2017, 01:12:45 am
Howdy

I wanted to ask for advice on the Map i've been creating, and figured here would be a cool place to come. I'm trying to see what works, so any suggestions would be great!

Ice Island: Just supposed to look cold, a top-down view. Is it appealing to the eye? Does it look too complex? How should it look, without changing colors?

Also, is there a way to make it look sharper? I use GIMP and paint.

Thanks

Study the ice and snow in other works. Snow tends to be somewhat of a uniform blanket, what you've draw looks more like rice spilled into a puddle.

Work from reference and Don't be afraid to crib the methods other artists use!
