Suggestion for better motion blur?

on: January 12, 2016, 09:21:18 am
This is a frostbite spider I'm working on. I'm not really happy with the motion blur for the attack frames. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!

Another frame or two might help.  I've found that for as large a blur as you have on the last frame, it looks better if there's a sort of 'cool down.'

Between the first and last frame, you might want to add one that's right in between and has a tiny bit of blur left, rather than going straight from a full one to absolutely nothing.  It'd also help it be smoother overall.

Your motion blur looks weird because the object that is moving isn't getting blurred. I made a quick edit to try to show what I mean:

These are both great suggestions. I'll try a combination of the two and post an update. Thanks!
