Pixelation Slack

on: October 21, 2015, 11:23:36 am
Hello! Come join us at https://wayofthepixel.slack.com

Over the years we've had an active IRC, sporadic google hangouts, a lonely skype group, and probably a few other smaller initiatives to help us chat and share our work.

To anyone who hasn't used a team chat like slack or hipchat before, it's essentially a feature rich IRC that works out of your web browser, so you don't need to install any software if you don't want. Here is a video from Slack, explaining the concept.

Hope to see you there!

There has been a lot of activity today! So much that we now have a General, Critique, and Gamedev channel! Keep on sending those emails and showing up, it's super fun.

This is the perfect place to get instant feedback on a piece if you're not sure if it warrants a post, or dont want to show the whole world. We have 14 people signed up, with about half that regularly showing up to chat.

I'm still confused. Do you need to sign up to Slack first or is that only for creating a new chat?

you need to be invited to slack via email.  The link you receive in your email will have signup instructions

Nobody uses voice to communicate. You will wake up to hundreds of new messages in the general channel. :) It's just like IRC, but more cohesive and with inline image previewing, and a whole lot of other stuff. Please join us!

Just a note because I've invited quite a few people who provided me with their emails and haven't joined, there should be an invite sent to your email address you need to follow up with.

I think I've found a better software :D
It's called Discord (https://discordapp.com/) and is much better than most chat softwares. You can use it without downloading it! You can download it here (https://discordapp.com/apps)
