MS Paint Sketches - Monsters

on: January 24, 2015, 07:01:40 pm
I've been working on a silly game called Black Cat's Story for a while, and Instead of pixelling, I've used a thicker pencil brush to more so 'sketch' in MS Paint. I've still used limited colors and no AA. It's actually something I've found i can enjoy, and that I can do quickly. It's not a style I see very often, what do you think?

I think the style looks pretty good and its unique... the only thing is that animation will be a huge pain because they're so big, and won't be possible at all in MS Paint. If you're planning on animating these, there are several free programs you can use, such as GraphicsGale and GIMP. Personally I can't be arsed to learn GIMP because GraphicsGale is way simpler, but these are probably hi-res to use in GraphicsGale with any manner of efficiency.

I don't see how MSPaint or GraphicsGale couldn't do "hi-res" (it really isn't) just as well. I've done bigger animations in GG than this actually :)

I don't think you can animate at all in MSPaint. Might be wrong about that though. I know they obviously aren't high-res but I thought they were higher than what GG is designed for. I suppose you're right though, they really aren't all that large. Still could be a pain though. Animation is incredibly time consuming as is, no need to make it harder on yourself.

Thanks guys. The project I made for them was just a simple silly RPG Maker game, so they won't be animated.

Here's what they look like in the battle screen-

And here's the villain of the game hahaha:
