Character Stance Animation

on: July 27, 2014, 02:05:20 am
I practice some pixel art for fun, then, not so long i started doing this animation here, i plan on making 8 frames, and im not so experienced in pixel art and animation, so i met this forum and thought it would be a good idea to post what i've done so some of you could see it and give constructive feedback.
Anyway, here it is:

The first thing that stood out to me were the thighs. I think they're a tad too long. Also I's give her left foot a bit more to stand on. She needs more to support that figure!  ;) I made a quick edit to give you an idea. Sorry it was so rushed.

The other thing I noticed was how the inner part of the jacket and the sword have outlines and the rest uses shading to convey the beginning and end of different materials. You should pick one or the other and stick with it, otherwise it is confusing to the viewer and will make it much more irritating to animate.

I would take a look at some BlazBlue sprites, these pretty stylistically similar to what you're doing.

hope this helps buddychu! > v <
