[WIP] Underwater Tree

on: January 19, 2014, 12:49:54 am
I start this work for train dithering, any criticisms are welcome :D
Currently i'm having problems with the texture of the leaves, anyone know an example (in pixel art) or another thing that will help me in that?

Here's the pixel art:

Edit:
Ah, I forgot the reference that I used for the tree

I want to do the leaves pointy like these, not normal leaves

At first it was hard to see the tree was the focal point.

Looked kind of like just a negative shape.

To fix this, you can brighten the floor where the tree stands,
or add highlights to the top leaves of the tree,
or even add shafts of light coming from the sky

I think before moving to the shape of the leaves you need to fix these value issues

Another update, I think this style of leaf is good for this piece. I'll add more Sunbeams comming from the sky in right after dithering, and will add bubles, more fishes, etc
