why 60x60? what kind of a crummy size is that for a desktop icon? Why not 64x64 or 32x32?

Sorry ptoing, I wasn't aware that there was a standard size for desktop icons, so I picked a size that I thought would be suitable.  Would it make it easier if I changed it to 64x64, or were you just surprised?

it comes from when things were required to work with 8x8 squares.  i dont know exactly how or why, but it just sorta became standard.  a lot of programs still require textures etc to be 2^n

not quite sure why i bothered posting this since almost everyone here knows that...oh well, sometimes the world needs the obvious stated... 8)

The same mistake twice is a bad habit.
The same mistake three or more times is a motif.

well, keeping things like textures in aspects of powers of 2 makes sense, what with the way computers work and all, bits, bytes all that crap.

On initial glance, looks like the standard EGA palette chopped in half.
