[Portfolio] Carnivac (Not available)

on: September 27, 2011, 09:17:12 am
This here's my portfolio and has examples of my pixel art from the last decade or so.  Some of these were designed around the technical restrictions of old computers and consoles such as the NES and the Amstrad CPC 464.  Email me at <email not currently working> if you want to discuss anything that you feel I might be suitable for.  Thanks.

UPDATE:  NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR FREELANCE WORK THANKS

Ignore the coins (placeholders) and the fact the purple guys walk cycle didn't get updated to the new design seen on their idle stance before the game got put on hold (or cancelled).  This was a PSP upgrade of the indie game Destructivator with that game's creator Pug Fugly.  The hero's run cycle is at the bottom of this post.

Variants of various Doctor Who sprites are at my pixelly gallery for them at http://doctorwho.carnivac.co.uk/

Thanks.

I'm going through the masses of seemingly random folders on my hard drive here and finding other lil bits and pieces of pixel art I'd long forgotten I ever did.  Just added a few more small bits now.

Your work is amazing. I wish I could afford a pixel artist.

Well, if I ever get to acquire some extra money, you are first on my list.

Hope you found paid work already. If not, good luck!

I'm doing a couple of small comissions for some pocket money but nothing fulltime yet.  I have been discussing with a cast mate in a play I'm in about pursuing my old plans about wanting to become a primary school teacher and he's one himself and can help and advise me on how to do that at this stage of my life.  Not going to be easy but it's a goal to focus on at least.  He also mentioned about offering to help fund any game ideas I could do graphics for to sell on iphone/android.   We'll see what happens.

Added RoboCop CPC widepixels mock up a couple weeks ago and now finally the Doctor Who sprites collection has the Second Doctor Patrick Troughton whom I pixelled today.  Woo!  I feel satisfied now I've pixelled all eleven of them.  I can die happy now.   ;D *bang!*  :blind:

Just popped back to update that after I finish the current freelance pixel project I'm doing (a small Atari ST game), I won't be doing any more for the foreseeable future.  Sorry to those who have emailed me in the past month or so asking (and oddly at times, demanding) I take on some projects.  There's plenty better skilled pixellers on here and Pixel Joint who can take care of it all.   :)

take care  ;D

Server my stuff is hosted one died on christmas day apparently and the guys in charge (Retro Remakes who give me some of their server space) is in the process of moving to a new one.  I don't know all the techy stuff but that's why my files ain't showing up at moment.  Just thought I should mention it is all.

edit:  Server issues all fixed so my portfolio is working again.  Not that it really matters... but still...

Updated with a shot of BeGEMeD, a 16 color Bejewelled clone for Atari ST I was hired to do graphics for in the past year.

Do you have an idea of when you'll next be available for freelance, roughly?
